Counselling or Psychotherapy (i.e. Soul-Therapy)

is a process that focuses on enhancing the psychological well-being of the individual. Counselling takes place when a therapeutic practitioner (e.g. Rachel) sees a client (e.g. you) in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty you might be experiencing, by welcoming you into a non-judgmental and supportive environment.

The counsellor will help you examine the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are proving troublesome, and to help identify an area where it would be possible to initiate some change. Sometimes called a ‘psychological midwife’, the therapist is essentially a facilitator assisting you to gain greater awareness of your inner dynamics and hence unlocking more of your inner potential.

Jolande Jacobi's Map of the Psyche, according to C.G. Jung:

Counselling is a way of enabling choice or change. It does not generally involve giving advice or directing a client to take a particular course of action.

Apart from the classical 'talking cure' therapy sessions may include: guided imagery, practising new responses, 'psycho-magical' gestures, visualizing,  drawing, writing, connecting with nature, keeping a diary, role-play, dream analysis, astrological analysis, and other methods - as well as occasional homework!

Rachel holds an MA in Psychotherapy and Healing and has, in the course of her experience, been truly impressed by the therapeutic benefits to be gained by counselling. Effective results are obtained in dealing with loss, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, stress related symptoms, anger management, grief, lack of direction, relationships, difficult memories, personal development, and more…
